A world-class area for outdoor pursuits. It attracts serious hill walkers due to the accessibility of some of Scotland's most famous Munroes, (mountains over 3000 feet) such as the Lawers Range, Ben More and Stobbinien that are almost on the doorstep with Lochaber, Glencoe and the Arrochar Hills all within an easy one hour drive away.
Keen anglers will appreciate the inclusive fishing rights on the Lochay which offer excellent brown trout and salmon fishing in season. Nearby Loch Tay and Loch Earn offer access to watersports, and the Falls of Dochart located on the western approach of Killin are not to be missed! There are plenty of challenges for walkers of all levels, with Ben Lawers, the Tarmachan Ridge, and Ben More nearby. Additionally, Killin has its own golf course, with two other courses located in nearby Kenmore and St.Fillans.
If you wish to drive further afield, then Glen Coe is only 30 miles distant, and the west coast is only a two hour drive away. Loch Lomond, Cianlarich, and The Trossachs are all within an hours drive from your doorstep. |
